Causes of fan blade burnout of cooling fan motor

 

  1. The radiator has insufficient heat dissipation capacity and the water temperature rises. On the one hand, the ECU module will always control the high-speed operation of the fan, and the working time of the fan will be extended; When the fan works at high speed, the motor coil will continue to heat. When the coil exceeds the allowable temperature range, the motor will burn out and get stuck; On the other hand, the heat dissipation capacity of the water tank is insufficient, the water temperature rises, the surface temperature of the water tank is high, and the ambient temperature of the corresponding fan is high, which improves the overall temperature rise of the motor and accelerates the aging of the motor.

 

  1. The fan blade of the fan is covered with sediment, the fan blade loses its dynamic balance, increases the load of the fan motor, increases the heating capacity of the motor, and affects the service life of the motor.

 

  1. When the fan works under high temperature and harsh environment for a long time, the fan cover and fan blade will be aged and deformed (because the gap between the fan blade and fan cover is very small, in order to ensure the working efficiency of the fan during design). After the aging and deformation of the fan blade and fan cover, the fan blade and fan cover will interfere and friction during operation; On the one hand, it increases the working load of the motor and affects the service life of the motor; On the other hand, when the friction between the fan blade and the fan cover is serious, the fan blade will be deformed and melted.

 

As mentioned above, due to the direct friction and heating between the fan blade and the fan cover, the deformation or even melting will occur, the motor load will increase, and the motor will work under the high temperature environment for a long time, which will lead to the very high surface temperature of the motor, and the temperature of the motor bearing and shaft will reach hundreds of degrees. Firstly, the shaft will melt between the shaft and the fan blade hole. Because the shaft of the motor is limited at the shaft end, the fan blade will not be separated from the motor, and the motor shaft will continue to transfer heat to the fan blade, resulting in large-area melting and deformation of the fan blade. In serious cases, the fan cover will be deformed or even melted.
